The rationale for the
here’s one I did earlier website is its simplicity. At its heart is a table of webpages, each of which has a link in the left-hand navigation bar (‘navbar’), accessible from anywhere on the site. For
each of these supplementary pages (ie, those below the home page) you need to:
- specify the order in which you want it to appear in the navbar
- agree the text to appear on each navbar, which will also be that webpage’s title line
- say what message you want to appear when a reader hovers over that link
- specify the colour used for that link (which must be dark enough for reversed-out text)
- supply a graphic to be used in the top left-hand corner (or have us find these for you)
- let us have the content to be used on that page (or we can help you write this)
Once the above process is underway, we need to secure an appropriate domain name for you (unless you’re transferring an existing domain name) and map this to our ColdFusion-enabled webspace. Then we need to agree the content of a meaningful Home page, which tells the reader what your organisation is all about, that they’ve come to the right place, that you have what they need etc..
Based on the above, you can have an attractive, easily navigable website up-and-running in no time. Obviously we can make it more sophisticated, with features such as: a customer login page, a registration or subscribe page (eg, to sign up for newsletters), a contact webform, a website search capability etc. But for many customers the key requirement is get something working quickly, that looks clean and tidy, and which
‘does what it says on the tin’.
